Here’s everything you need to know before booking your spot.
What is the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy?
More than 175 years after Edgar Allan Poe’s death, his stories still fascinate readers around the world. The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy takes those haunting tales and turns them into a fully immersive evening of storytelling, theatre, and cocktails.
It is an immersive storytelling and cocktail event where dramatic narrators bring Poe’s famous works to life, while you sip cocktails inspired by each tale.
For this experience, you’ll sit inside a dimly lit, gothic-style speakeasy environment where the stories unfold around you. Each part of the experience follows the same format where a host introduces the story and its themes. Then the live performer dramatically retells the tale and a cocktail inspired by the same is served.
By the end of the night, you’ll have experienced four Poe stories and four themed cocktails, all within about 90 minutes.
The four stories and cocktails you’ll experience
Each story is paired with a cocktail designed to reflect its mood and themes.

One of Poe’s most famous psychological horror stories about guilt and obsession.
Cocktail pairing:
— Blueberry vodka
— Fresh lemon juice
— Rose syrup
— Sparkling topper
— Blueberry garnish
The drink has a light blue color inspired by the haunting pale blue eye described in the story, and the flavor profile is tart, refreshing, and citrusy.
The Black Cat
This dark tale explores madness, cruelty, and guilt through the narrator’s relationship with a mysterious black cat.
Cocktail pairing:
— Bourbon
— French brandy
— Vanilla cream
— Milk syrup
— Half-and-half

The result is a creamy, rich cocktail inspired by historic milk punch recipes, reportedly similar to drinks Poe himself enjoyed.
The Raven
Poe’s iconic poem about grief, loss, and the descent into madness.
Cocktail pairing:
— Peach blossom vodka
— Lime juice
— Secret spice blend
— Charcoal powder
The charcoal gives the drink its deep black color, creating one of the most visually striking cocktails of the night.

A haunting allegory about inevitability, mortality, and the illusion of escaping death.
Cocktail pairing:
— High-proof vodka
— Cherry liqueur
— Benedictine

The drink arrives deep red in color, matching the theme of the story.
The entire event is designed to feel like a gothic literary salon mixed with a speakeasy. The performers, called Poe Historians, act each of the stories out through voice, characterization, and dramatic delivery.
